First, what are you reading? If you are reading a textbook which claims it makes it easy to learn Spanish, then you might have fallen for a marketing scheme. When it comes to learning a language you want books with pictures. Plus, the more pictures the better. Sure, you might find it a bit embarrassing to be flipping through a book which looks like it was made for a three year-old. However, you will find it easy to learn Spanish when you have a picture to associate with the word. The image helps to reinforce the words in your head.

If you do not have any picture books around, then look for other printed material which contains a lot of pictures. Magazines, newspapers and guidebooks can be useful when you are studying a language. Plus, they are a lot more fun to flip through than textbooks.

Second, what are you listening to? If you just have the radio on while you are studying, then you are not doing yourself any favors. Instead, try throwing in CD’s of Latin music with Spanish lyrics. You may choose listening to tapes designed for teaching you a foreign language. You will find it easy to learn Spanish, especially proper pronunciations, the more frequently you hear it. Keep in mind, you do not have to be seated at your desk while you listen. Try uploading the recording to your iPod and taking a walk outdoors or burn it to a CD and listen to it during your daily commute.

Third, what are you watching? If you are bored and channel surfing, then consider changing to one of the Spanish channels on your TV. You will find watching TV makes it easy to learn Spanish. You get the visual stimulation which will help you remember the words, plus it is a lot more entertaining. Planning a movie night? Take a look at your DVD collection. Many DVD’s will offer language options or subtitling. Turning on the Spanish options can make it easy to learn Spanish as well.

These ways are just a few tips to get you thinking outside of the box and searching for the method which will make it easy to learn Spanish. If one technique does not work for you, then keep looking for a method which does. Remember, everyone learns differently. Therefore, while one approach may make it easy to learn Spanish for you, it may not work for your friends and vice versa. The key is finding a tactic that builds your skills yet is entertaining enough you will stick with it.
